Entries for October, 2005
My life nowadays has been pretty boring. Waking up, eating, doing house chores, and sleeping has been a routine that im sick and tired of. I need to get a life! But still, life becomes a little less dull when you've got friends to brighten it up. And im proud to say that i've got one of best life has to offer. Although there's only the two of us left here in Bacolod out of the original seven (high school friends), Criselda and I make sure that we make the most of our times together. Here's a proof of the wacky moments we come up with!

Need i say more?!? Yes i have to, because NOT EVEN the pictures can express how magical that night had been for us. Im talking about our wonderful moments with the band HALE (Champ, Omnie, Roll, and Sheldon), the OPM band me and my friends are crazy about (and im not exaggerating).
It all started (for me and Criselda) earlier that day, when we we noticed Hale's van pass by us. Before we knew it, we were already trailing behind their van curious to know where they were headed. Finally, when their vehicle stopped in front of their hotel, and when we saw Champ, the lead singer, emerge, Criselda and I, without second thoughts, did what typical fans would do: get out from where they were and dart towards the person they went there for. Not giving any attention at all to the other people around us, we went straight to Champ and talked to him. He was so accommodating that he even introduced himself to us, though that was obviously, uneccesary. And of course, to complete our experience, we had our pictures taken with him.
That evening, before their concert, we knew where Champ, Sheldon, Roll, and Omnie were having dinner, and being the stalkers that we are, we decided to be there, too. We thought that the most we could achieve that night was just to see them and again, have pictures taken with them. Well, yeah, we got what we expected, but something way better happened to us!!! Champ approached our table, sat and talked with us for more than 10 minutes, something we didn't even imagine happening in a million years! That moment made us feel so special because we all felt that we were actually friends with Champ. He even remembered our names, which for us, meant A LOT. A little later, Omnie, the drummer, joined us. And again for the nth time, we had our "picture-taking" moments, this time being less serious and more candid. Finally, when they (HALE) had to leave for their concert (of course, us too), we all went to the parking lot and Champ even joked of hitching a ride with us. And Omnie, pretending that he was a traffic policeman, guided us out from where we were parked. And thinking fast, I gave him a five peso coin, making him and Champ laugh. On our way to the concert, we could not help but go crazy and scream our lungs out, releasing the extreme happiness overflowing from within us. That was definitley the best night of our lives. But wait, the night was still far from being over.
At the concert, we were of course, positioned right in front of the stage, literally to the point where we could already touch the speakers and the stage itself. And best of all, Champ saw where we were and everytime he looked at us, he smiled and acknowledged our presence. The highlight of the show was when Champ said, "Thank you everyone for coming and supporting us," then pointing and referring to us,"lalong lalo na sa mga ito!" And take note, at the concert, Champ was wearing the bracelet Criselda and I gave him.
Although the concert was over, things were just heating up. We had VIP passes to the after party with Hale. Although I was already feeling a bit embarrased because we had been around them wherever they went that day, I didn't let this stop me from enjoying the opportunity given to us. At the party, we had the chance of being around them longer. Omnie and Sheldon left early (we found out later that they went to party somewhere else), and Omnie, before leaving, all right, thanked me for the five peso coin i have given him earlier that night. Champ regularly went to where we were seated and well, let's just say checked on us once in a while. Finally, when we decided to end the night, (funny as it may sound) we said our final goodbyes to Champ. And unexpectedly, he sort of begged us to stay for 10 minutes more and signalled us to sit with him and Roll. So we did. And for that entire 10 minutes or so, we talked and felt all the more satisfied with our night. Then when we really had to leave, we said our goodbyes once more and thanked Champ for everything he had done for us. Likewise, Champ thanked us.
Ok. So I know Champ practically does this to his fans all over the country. And i know there's a slim chance of him even remembering us. But really, that night had been the most special and wonderful night for us. And although all we have left are pictures and memories, we can truly say that once in our lives we had our dreams come true and at that time, we were not just mere fans but indeed friends with HALE, especially with Champ.
